Privacy policy
Last updated 3 August 2026. This policy explains what data Shamire collects, why, and how you control it.
Shamire is published as a set of static pages. There is no user account system and no database of visitors. This policy covers the limited data that does change hands, including data handled by third parties such as advertising and email providers.
Who we are
Shamire is an independent beauty publication. For any privacy question, the contact address is larashaposy@gmail.com. For general enquiries use our contact page.
What we collect
Newsletter subscribers
If you subscribe we store the email address you provide and the date of subscription with our email provider. It is used to send the newsletter and for nothing else. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes the record.
Contact form messages
Your name, email address and message, retained for as long as needed to answer you and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp — for security and abuse prevention. These are retained for a short period and are not used to build individual profiles.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser. This site uses cookies and similar storage in three categories:

We do not control the cookies set by advertising partners and we do not receive the personal data they collect. Each partner operates under its own privacy policy, including Google's policy on how it uses data from sites that use its services.
Analytics
Where analytics are used they are privacy-preserving and cookieless: aggregate page-view counts with no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking and no individual visitor profiles.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not use session recording or fingerprinting scripts of our own, and we do not share your newsletter address with advertisers or data brokers.
Other third-party services
Fonts are served by Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of the request. Article photography is served from the Pexels content delivery network. Our hosting provider processes requests to deliver the site, and our email provider processes newsletter subscriptions. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
Legal bases for processing (UK and EU)
- Consent — newsletter subscription and non-essential cookies.
- Legitimate interests — site security, abuse prevention and aggregate audience measurement.
- Contract — responding to an enquiry you have sent us.
Your rights
If you are in the EU, UK, or California you have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, to withdraw consent, and to object to processing. California residents additionally have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA.

Data retention
Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months. Server logs are kept for a short period as determined by our hosting provider.
International transfers
Our hosting, email and advertising providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be announced in the newsletter and reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this page.
